March Madness: Vegas Whispers Friday Sharp Plays!

We already gave out the Sharp Plays for the Thursday games, now its time to focus on the Friday slate. The sharps have been busy pounding every game that fit their models/angles & the books continue to adjust.

Without further adieu, lets dive in to who the Vegas Whispers sharps are backing and who they are fading here in desert on Friday:

#4-seed Kansas State (-5) vs #13-seed UC Irvine (2pm EST/11am PST)

The 4-seed Wildcats won a share of the Big 12 regular season title with Texas Tech but this game seems like the trap game of the opening round. Kansas State is not shooting the ball well at all from three point range or from the paint and they could have serious issues with the rebounding size of UC Irvine. The Anteaters went 30-5 in the regular season and enter the tournament on a 16-game winning streak playing in the Big West Conference. The biggest story line of this game will come down to the health and effectiveness of K-State’s Dean Wade who missed the Big 12 Tournament and was seen in a boot on the live look-in of the Wildcats on Selection Sunday. The Anteaters are among five NCAA Division I teams with 30 or more victories, along with Houston, Gonzaga, Buffalo and New Mexico State. UC Irvine was originally catching 5.5 points at the open but sharps pounced and the books are now offering +4.5 in some spots globally but +5 can still be found locally here in Vegas.

#5-seed Wisconson (-1) vs #12-seed Oregon (4:30pm EST/1:30pm PST)

One of the hottest teams to enter the dance is Dana Altaman’s Oregon Ducks who stole an automatic bid taking down the Pac-12 Tournament. The Ducks have ripped off eight-straight victories and now have an opening round match-up with the 5-seed Wisconson Badgers. Just one month ago, it would have been extremely difficult to envision Oregon being one of the hottest teams in the country and ever earning an NCAA bid. However, the sharps are backing the Ducks to take out the Badgers in Round One. If the line is any indication, the oddsmakers do not see much difference in these two teams despite the seeding differential as the Badgers opened as the lowest favored 5-seed at just -2. The line saw so much sharp action, the books actually moved the Ducks to a 1 pt favorite before settling back now at a current line of Wisky -1 at nearly every shop both globally and here in the desert.
